The National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) is a super-large exhibition and convention project jointly built by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. With a total construction area exceeding 1.5 million square meters and nearly 600,000 square meters of exhibition space, it integrates various functions such as exhibitions, meetings, events, commerce, offices, and hotels. It serves as a landmark project for promoting the high-quality development of China’s commerce industry, optimizing the spatial layout of the exhibition and convention sector, and advancing the construction of an international exhibition and convention city.
The National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) has always adhered to its original mission, striving to align with the development vision of becoming “a new window for serving the construction of a new development pattern, a new engine for promoting industrial integration, and a new calling card for China’s exhibition industry.” It has gradually evolved from a “newcomer in exhibitions and conventions” to a “sector leader.” Since the first China International Import Expo in 2018, it has served as one of the host venues and organizing units, continuously participating in the preparatory work and actively exploring and practicing in serving the internationalization, professionalization, marketization, and branding of China’s exhibition industry. It has developed a distinctive event organization and operational service system with its own characteristics. The hosted exhibition is the China International Import Expo.
